Welcome

Ever since early childhood, I've kind of been a mess. My life and thoughts are in constant disarray, and although I've tackled my appearance somewhat, as a kid I was always uside down, as were my room and my toys. My mother called me Miss Dropsie because I left a trail behind me wherever I went. Lucky for me, I married Mr.-Pick-It-Up. I have always been surrounded by organized people—probably for one or both of the following reasons: 1) They subconsciously felt they could "cure" me of my disaster status, and 2)I relied on them to keep me from losing my keys, my socks, my mind.

I've learned over the years to embrace my inner Dropsie Diva, and I now realise that routine and structure frustrate and suffocate me. So I work hard at making sure Mr. Pick-It-Up is constantly pulled out of his shell, and I now know that even though I sometimes leave the house without my cell phone, or lose my bank card, I play a valuable role in our family: I am invention, I am creativity, I am sponteneity, I am life.

One of the things I am most passionate about is fueling and feeding my body, and trying to teach my children the importance of using food to improve its function. After a troubled relationship with food, I hope my children develop a simple, healthy relationship with it. I hope they see food as a source of nutrition, and fuel for "the tank" so that they may have the strength and stamina to do the things that are important to them. I hope they do what I couldn't do back then: I hope they do not "live to eat" but instead "eat to live".
